What Is HIP Cleaning in Singapore?
HDB's Home Improvement Programme (HIP) upgrades older HDB flats — typically those 30 years and above — with bathroom and toilet replacements, spalling concrete repairs, entrance door and metal gate upgrades, and corridor improvements. While the works improve your flat significantly, they leave a specific type of mess: fine cement dust from concrete drilling and bathroom tiling, grout haze on tile surfaces, paint overspray on fixtures, and adhesive residue from protective film.
This dust spreads throughout the flat — settling inside kitchen cabinets, on fan blades, in window tracks and air vents — even though the works were only in the bathroom and entrance. - Before furniture moves back: An empty or near-empty flat allows full access to every corner, cabinet interior, floor and fixture. If your furniture is still in, we work around it — it's just not as thorough.
